The group dynamics of the human society is fluid and vivid. Like individuals, there are oppressed and domineering groups. Sometimes those relations are solved with negotiations, sometimes with violence and sometimes with political decisions.. The usual human means of solving the disputes and pecking order.
A peculiar strategy of survival ang gaining assets within the societal group hierarchy is, what I call, "pedigree underdog". In the "pedigree underdog" strategy the group, which experiences itself as oppressed, continuously rants, bitches, whines and kvetches about being oppressed, appeals on the general conscience and demand impossibilities. When they get what they want, they whine and kvetch for more - they are the ones who are oppressed, no matter how much their situation is improved.
The pedigree underdog strategy can be fairly successful - several groups have gained quite strong societal positions by merely whining and ranting, and managed to milk enormous societal fundings and assets. On the other hand, it works only in a society which is based on guilt culture (not in cultures which stress honour and shame), because it feeds itself on guilt, and only for some time. The negative sides of this strategy is that it easily turns upon itself - compassion to the oppressed minority easily becomes disgust - and it effectively undermines the self-esteem and self-respect of the pedigree underdog group itself.
The pedigree underdog feeds itself by the weaknesses on the Judeo-Christian morality - guilt and remorse - and it is considered very effete strategy. While people may feel compassion towards the pedigree underdogs, they often feel the members of that group are pissweak, craven and selfish to the boot, unable to tolerate the so-called "oppressors" and their lifestyle.
If the pedigree underdogs manage to infiltrate certain sectors of the society, the results can well be disastrous. When the public sector is staffed with people with low self-esteem, hostile relations towards a certain slice of populace and access to so-called "petty person's power", the results can well be misuse of power, misjustices, witch hunts, abuse of authority and certain corruption of the public sector.
Craven and pissweak people in power get craven and pissweak results.
